Mouse pointer on 19' flat panel

I recently purchased a 19' flat panel and my mouse
pointer (MS Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 USB - Optical) does
not move across the entire screen without moving the
mouse a great deal more than I am accustomed to or,
worse, picking it up to continue the move. This was not a
problem on my 19' CRT with the same mouse and same
resolution settings.
Does anyone know a way to address this problem in through
Win XP Pro?

You may want to increase the Pointer Speed setting in the Control
Panel > Mouse.
 
I had already set the speed to maximum and the problem
with covering distance remains. Thx.
 
Don't you ever update your software.

There are about 2-3 versions of the mouse drivers that are more recent than
the ones you are using. Maybe they address this condition.

You may want to reinstall the mouse driver and if this does not help
and also the mouse does not require cleaning, contact the manufacturer
of the device for further help.
