I keep getting to the point where the cursor of my mouse is flying all over the screen. Sometimes it gets so bad that it is opening the right or left click button everywhere it does this

I have repalced my mouse, it is not the problem

To fix this I need to do a restore to a time at least 2 weeks before this occurred

I have to unplug my mouse or unplug my 4 port USB hub to get the mouse cursor to stay in the middle of the screen and then use manual commands to get the restore done

It is getting progressively harder to fix this each time it happens

As it is now, the only way I have it working is to permanently leave the USB hub disconnected and manually rotate the printer and my camera between the USB port that is not being used on the back of my computer

The last time to fix this I had to upgrade my XP home to XP pro, but sure enough, it came back any way another two weeks later

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds a lot like my problem with my mouse cursor, you'll see a problem regarding it a couple of notes down

Mine is software i think, although I haven't gotten any replies from anyone......

Is it an optical mouse? Do you have a mousepad? If you do, try removing the
mousepad. This is a common problem with the Macintosh. Removing the mousepad
solves the problem.

Hope you find an answer.

What type of mouse are you using? (PS/2, USB, serial?

On PS/2 I have seen this sort of issue when the standard microsoft driver is replaced by a non-standard driver

Go into Device Manager and re-install the mouse driver (force it to if it says "working properly").

It is an optical wireless mouse, the first one was a logitech mouse and the second one that I am now using is a no-nmae brand from the local discount store. When it forst occurred i went to the original wired ball mouse and the problem persisted

I am not using any sort of musepad.

It happened again this morning, this time I got rid of the problem by rebooting the computer and removing the CNET 4-port USB Hub, But I don't know if this is the problem, this has happened so many times and to fix it I have not removed this but done other things.

Can't anyone help with this?

Am I the only person in the whole world that has seen this?

OK, I give up, thanks anyway...

I guess I'll just wipe my hardrive and start anew if I can figure out a way to save all those damn CD's I've already recorded for my Sony Minidisc player.
