I have mistakenly disabled my mouse through the control panel. I now have no
control for the mouse. Can anyone help, as i have no idea how to enable my
mouse without using it. Many thanks

Go to start/run, and type:

%windir%/system32/main.cpl

Use the TAB key to to move to the area you want, for example when the
"Buttons" tab is highlighted, the right arrow key moves to the next tab, and
the TAB key moves the focus. Hitting the SPACE key will highlight a
selection, or check a box, ENTER key will press the Button (like "Apply")
when the focus is there, and so on.

Sometimes "Ctrl-Tab" or "Shift-Tab" are used to change the focus.

Thank you Mark, but unfortunately I am no longer in the mouse properties
window, and do not know how to access it again using the keyboard only. Would
you know how to go about accessing this from the desktop using the keyboard
only? Any suggestions would be sincerely appreciated.

Press Ctrl-Escape to open the Start menu, and press 'r' for the RUN box.

and type:

%windir%/system32/main.cpl

'Mark' do you think that moving in Mouse Properties may solve this problem or
you didn't specify which option to use in Mouse Properties to make it work
again.

First try running Windows in Safe Mode or Last Known Good Configuration. See
if your Mouse Works there. You can do this by turning your PC on and pressing
F8 key rapidly after 1 second to bring the Advanced Startup Menu.

'Buttergog' try this:

1. Press WindowKey+PauseBreak to bring up the System Properties dialog box.
2. Press Ctrl+Tab key to move to the Hardware tab.
3. When you are at Hardware tab press ALT+D key to open Device Manager.
4. Check if there is any yellow exclamation mark under your "Mice and other
pointing devices".
5. If there is any, then select it using down arrow key from your keyboard.
6. When you are at particular device e.g. "PS/2 Compatiable Mouse", press
Shift+F10 key (for right-click).
7. Notice which options are available. If Uninstall is available then use it
and after completition restart your PC and see if it works. Otherwise try
updating drivers here.

Thank you both very much. I now have control over my mouse again, and owe you
both much a huge debt (at least another day or so anyway). Keep up the good
work!
