Mouse button configuration Problem

I have the latest intellipoint drivers for my 5-button mouse, i want to make button 5 "tab" or at least some other button on the keyboard that would be settable for games. I used to be able to use tab on windows ME, but i'm on XP and there is no choice. Is there a file i can directly edit to allow me to change button 5 to something useful.
