Hi:
After 'system Restore,' both 'Mouse' and 'Keyboard'
not working at all.

Only time when the 'mouse' working is when WindowsXP
started. Otherwise, both 'Mouse' and 'Keyboard' does
NOT function at all.

I need HELP on this, very urgently.

Thanks,

More information is needed such as whether or not your mouse and
keyboard are USBs or wireless, whether they work in Safe Mode and,
finally, whether you have tried other keyboards and mice.

You might, if you can get into the BIOS, see if the BIOS recognizes both
the mouse and the keyboard.

Hi:
Both Mouse and Keyboard are hooked up by 'USB.'

I changed a new mouse and for few second the mouse
was working, but afterwards it was NOT functioning at all.

As you suggesting, ... I, too agree that without 'safe mode,'
there is NO way to get mouse and keyboard back.

*How to bring up 'Safe Mode?'*

note;) My computer is HP pavillion 533w that was preinstalled with
WindowsXP Home Edition.

Thanks for your help.

click start then click on the control panel,
& click on performance & maintainance.
or click start, then click run & type:/scannow

then press enter.

And how, pray tell, will the OP do this without a mouse to click or a
keyboard to type?

Hi:
Unfortunately, mouse and keyboard does NOT move,
nor functioning at all.

Then, I can NOT bring up any screen.
Just I got stuck, ... Now, I'm using and putting the thread
by using someone else's computer, because mine is
NOT working.

How to bring up 'Safe Mode,' without mouse and keyboard?

Thanks,

When and if you can get into Safe Mode, check the Device Manager to see
what's happening with your USBs.

Was the new mouse USB? If so, try one that is wired and not USB.

After the beep upon booting up, hit the F8 key repeatedly until you get
a white letter/black background menu. Choose Safe Mode, assuming your
keyboard works at that stage.

You have my sincere condolences.
Thanks for your help.

To get into the BIOS, hit Del (or whatever HP says you should use for
"set up") before the beep upon rebooting and see if the mouse, keyboard
and USB are recognized.

He's just a troll, Alias. Ignore him. The only reason I haven't
killfiled him is that he gives destructive advice.

Have you tried to boot into BIOS setup and see if the keyboard works there?

First, is it hardware or is it software? If you can get into BIOS setup,
your problem is more than likely Microsoft. Try than and return with
results.

Hi:
It was Hardware problem, ... actually 'slow-death.,'
that I found out last night before going to the bed.

"System Restore" was just concidence.

Thanks all, for your help and support.
I really appreciate them, all.

Mali, ...

You could try system restore to take it back again. Seems like if they
were working then stoped after that It could be a driver issue that you
may have took it back before you installed the mouse and keybored thats
why it won't work because you took it back before you installed the
driver. thats why on start up it works because there is a default that
will allow it to work and once windows loads it looks for the driver
and can't find it. I think you should boot into saft mode then try to
do system restore back to when you know it would worked. Or get the
drivers on line and reinstalle them.

thanks administer of god
