My computer has had this problem for a couple months
now. I'll be working away and all of a sudden, my mouse
and keyboard quit responding. They act like they are
because the lights are on, but they aren't. I have
already replaced my memory and CPU with no success. My
computer keeps responding as usual, but the keyboard and
mouse quit. (to proove this, I can put a disc into the
DVD drive and it will autoplay it and start running the
disc) Is this a motherboard problem? Thanks! I have
512MB of memory. I have an AMD Athlon XP 2400+ CPU @
2GHz. I have an Asus A7V333 mobo with revision 1.01 and
BIOS version 1017.

It might be. You can try your keyboard/mouse on another PC, or another
keyboard/mouse on yours. Also try a boot floppy, you should be able to
use the command line.
