motion clips

Sometimes I bring in a motion clip from clip art, or other animated graphic from Microsoft office. When I view them in clipart they move around without any trouble - however, sometimes they remain still when in a slide show - some do, some don't, and I can't work out why some do and some don't! Thanks.
 
If you are using PowerPoint 97 then animated GIFs will not play, but AVIs
will. Both will play in PowerPoint 2000-2003.
