I am trying to find a driver that will make my pci slots work but i can't.
I've gone to the website of the motherboard maker and they don't seem to have
the driver. If anybody could help it would really be appreciated. The company
is VIA and the model of the motherboard is VT82C686B.

thanks

You are identifying the VIA Southbridge; the info you have presented is
neither the manufacturer of the motherboard or the model.

If you need M/B drivers, you need to identify the manufacturer / model of
the board and go to their website. If you no longer have the box it came in
or the manual, check between the PCI slots for a stamp identifying the board
model and google it.

Your PCI slots should "work" without drivers. Installing the chipset drivers
will allow Windows to use all the features of the chipset. Hope this helps.

Hello

You don't need drivers for a pci slot, if you insert a card should
work just fine, if not that means that pci slot is defective or just
bad.
