Motherboard for a new pc build

I am getting up courage to build a PC. I will be using it to edit video when I get the camera! I am looking at the new hyperthreading technology that is featured in Intel D845 GE boards as long as the CPU is 3 GHz or more. I thought that I would start with a slower P4 procedssor and wait for the price of the 3 GHz to come down. I have alos looked as Microstar International and Asus similar P4GE boards but have not found reviews of any in fact. Any experience of any of these would be most welcome.
