Hi. About a week ago I posted the following winlogon error I am getting
Winlogon.exe - Application erro
Instruction at 0x00d63f2d referenced memory at 0x00000019. The memory could not be written
When I click OK I get a stop error c000021a with a status of 0xc0000005 (which is access denied)
This happens about once every 10 to 20 restarts
I was advised to perform dependency check, which I ran in TD and did not change anything after I ran it. Problem still exists
Told to use Depends.exe. I have run it on about 100 dll's and 50 .exe's with nothing other then an MPR error that on MS.com is listed as a non issue
I have removed Autologon and now get GINA.exe erro
I have booted in Diagnostic Startup. Still got erro
I have tried to capture info with a bootlog. Nothin
I have tested the hardware with a full XP Pro load, no errors
I know I am missing something here
I need some advice. Can anyone help
Paul

Paul,

Try these:
1. How did you get your image? Did you run TAP on your taget - under XP Pro, WinPE, or just TA/DOS?

2. Check %SystemRoot%\FBA\FBALog.txt and %SystemRoot%\SetupApi.log files from your target (you make check them offline) for any
error.

3. Connect KD (Kernel Debugger) to your target to see what is going on there when you see the Winlogon errors.

4. XP Pro Emulation image from www.xpefiles.com (Development Utilities/Main folder) to make sure XPe runs fine on your target.

Sorry, can't help much without more info on the issue.

Thanks for the leads.
1) Yes I did a TAP extraction while running full XP Pro on the board.
2) Am looking at the FBALog and SetupApi files.
3) Can you give me some help on the Kernel Debugger. I have not had to use it (I am a newbie to this)
4) Have downloaded the image file and will follow the instructions. Will post back the results.
Thanks again for the help
Paul
