I moved the query back to the docmd.openreport I think I'm making progress
because at least the report runs but now I'm getting #Name? in all of the
fields. What does that mean please?

The "#Name?" means we don't know what you are talking about in a new thread.
Perhaps this posting belongs in a previous thread so readers understand some
history that you didn't include in this posting.

This really doesn't help me. Please don't bother replying if you're just
going to be nasty about it.

I have used the word "please" and have provided constructive suggestions on
both your problem with Access and your issues with using public news groups.

I have not "chastised" you. I have suggested how to better get answers to
your posts. There is a huge difference.

Sometimes we feel we have to ask for more information, so we won't spend
time guessing and having to offer multiple answers. Sometimes we just do not
have time and energy to beat around the bush about that. I can give you my
personal guarantee that Duane is not the kind of person to be "nasty" or
unhelpful.

You have to realize that we don't have your database in front of us, so you
have to tell us, in detail, what is there that you are having trouble with
if we are to be able to assist. In fact, you didn't give enough information
that anyone could give you a useful answer, other than "#Name" means Access
doesn't understand the name you gave it.

For good suggestions on effective use of newsgroups, take a look at the FAQ
at http://www.mvps.org/access/netiquette.htm.
