Heres more about being so slow--got norton 2005--defraged--etc. got 547 MHz
128MB on Pentium 111
 
Most likely you need more RAM.

Bring up Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Delete), Processes Tab. What does it
say the Commit Charge to be? Near bottom of Processes tab.

how do i get more ram? is it a chip? the Commit Charge is 356m/1250m.

How much RAM does your computer presently have installed? Right click
the My Computer icon on your Desktop and select Properties.

Unless the 356m goes above 512m you would not benefit from adding RAM.
