Sorry, maybe I'm lost here.

FWIW, I think s/he has listed some pretty nifty programs in the last few
days. However, my question is:

i. Why the need for pseudonyms on Tramp's part?
ii. Why the irate response from some here?

Is Tramp violating some sort of netiquette I'm unaware of? People are angry
because. . .?

Genuinely confused,

Hey Michael;

Good questions. The poster has posted some good info. The singular,
yet big, breach in netiquette is that he continually changes his posting
id. He does this to circumvent filters people have set up to avoid
having to read his posts.

Why avoid reading his posts?

I've set up a filter(s) to do just that simply because what he is posting

- may be cripple/nag/pay-ware. He doesn't check or does, depending on
which line from his previous post you believe.

- is a flood of uncommented posts that is high in volume, low in
interest for me. Wading through his flood makes it difficult to follow
threads of interest.

I prefer the current one freeware per title approach as the name of the
software usually gives an indication of whether I would be interested.

However, I think you're right -- courtesy would suggest that s/he should
stick to one ID so that those not interested can bypass him.

Hi Michael,

Tramp usually posts (some) freeware that many (all ?) of us haven't
seen before. :-)
However, my question is:
i. Why the need for pseudonyms on Tramp's part?

He says he does it to avoid killfiles.
ii. Why the irate response from some here?

They get upset because they want to killfile him and he isn't making
it easy for them.
Is Tramp violating some sort of netiquette I'm unaware of?

Nope. Nobody knows whether anyone's posting name is actually the
person posting. Some people use their own name, others nicknames,
others initials etc. Some, like Tramp, change their posting name
multiple times. Sometimes more than once in the one day. Nothing
to be bothered about.

Regards, John.

Indeed "Tramp" behaves like a troll. He wants to force us to see his
glut of superfluous postings. Moreover, he can easily post his
"recommendations" (which he has never tried) in lists, perhaps by
category, so as to avoid endless streams of diarrhoea.
