As usual what should be easy with MS is not. The import/export "wizard" says it makes it easy to import and export favorites. So I went to my old pc (has WinXP) and exported my favorites in IE6 to a folder. I saved the folder to a CD. I brought the CD to my new PC (also WinXP) and started MIE. I went to import favorites and browsed to E:. Error message says e: not accessible. I don't understand this at all. I have a CD in E that I just saved a folder to and it says its not accessible???
So I closed MIE and copied the folder into C:
Then I tried the whole thing over again from MIE and browsed to the folder I saved 'bookmark.htm' in.... this time I get the following message:
"bookmark.htm"
"You do not have Permission to Save in this Directory
See the administrator to obtain permission"
First..I'm not trying to "save" in that directory I'm trying to 'import' not save !!!
Second. As usual, nothing about any wizard ever works correctly and this is just the latest example. Whenever I see 'wizard' it makes me want to laugh or cry. So now I have to 'dance' to a newsgroup and ask someone for help. Mostly because there is absolutely nothing in the so called 'help' file when I put in import favorites or look at favorites, import. Wow, maybe they'll put a "wizard" in.
Thanks, Catt
