I have ecently installed a wireless network at home. I
have this particular concern. How do I monitor network
traffic passing through my router?

My teenage son has a study group who uses the network to
connect to Internet for research for their projects and
assignments. Before wireless it was ok since they had to
come to the computer room to do so. But since the
wireless network is up, they use a laptop that one of the
group partners brings.

My concern is to monitor what is going on when they
connect to Internet. Since it is not my laptop, I do not
have control over what is installed there. How do I
monitor what goes through my router?

Your wireless router will have a web-based configuration utility which should have a log to see which sites have been accessed

Tell them to park the laptop in a very public area of your house,
and let them know that you have the right to look over their
shoulders while in your house, and periodically do so.
