Hi, i have got a router that networks all 4 of the PCs in my house,
and everyone uses the internet.
I would like to be able to see how many MBs each computer has
downloaded or uploaded over the internet.
And ideally set a limit on how much a day or month they can use.

Is there any program that will do this?

Any info would be nice,
Thanks Adriel

Only if your router supports it. Otherwise, you'll need one of the server
products to act as a proxy, and even then I don't know if its that granular.

in theory it's possible.
it could be by the router.. (prob easier if it's a computer running
as a router)

Or, if you use a network HUB so
comps->hub->router
every computer will receive what every other one sends. You may be
able to configure your NIC into promiscuous mode (whch makes it accept
frames with MACs from other computers). So your comp could receive the
traffic, and then maybe a program could analyse.

It's possible that Analogx Netstat Live has the option. I'm not
sure.

Do post back about how you acheived any successes or failures in your
mission! For obvious reasons.

I think a network hub is v cheap.. though i've never used one! You
doj't want a network switch. It should be a hub (though it may be
possible to set an expensive switch or hack a cheap switch to do what
you want too). Though i've never used a switch either. i'm all
theory ;-)
