Hi all

When i go to control panel --> display --> settings --> advanced
--> monitor --> and i want to make the box 'hide modes that this
monitor cannot display' be checked.

But that option can't be checked, it's gray. Why?
Do i miss some component?

Thanks
Kiros

kiros,

diskmon.dll (COM) is responsible for this option.
Not sure why it is grayed for you unless the display driver does not support options you want to see in there.

Check fbalog.txt and make sure you are using the driver that provides the capabilities you need (check it out on XP Pro).
If nothing obvious there, you may want to launch Display Control Panel applet with monitoring tools running (FileMon/Regmon).

Hi KM

Thanks.
But i can't find any component with the diskmon.dll(com) in XP Embedded.
And i sure that diskplay driver provides that function.
Because i use another monitor, it's not grayed and can check it.
Is this function related to monitor?

Thanks
Kiros

kiros,

Did I say diskmon.dll? I am really sorry. Of course, I meant deskmon.dll (part of "Display Control Panel").
Btw, make sure you have Hotfix Q824704 installed.

By another monitor do you mean the same brand or is it absolutely different monitor?
What monitor driver you use? If it is "Default Monitor" it is not much to support various monitor functionalities.
I'd suggest you to pick your monitor specific component.
Also, you can try to copy all monitorX.inf files to your pre-FBA run time.
