monitor problems

i have a dell 2400 series hard drive and a acer monitor, my problem is i
can't change my screen resolution it is at 640 by 480 pixels i need it at 800
by 600 please help

You may need new drivers, or you may need to change the color depth.
(quality).

I find it hard to believe that you would need it for 800x600, but your
video card may need updated or more memory.
