I previously posted a message about my monitor going dim
and how my battery was malfunctioning. THe computer is
two years old and is an hp pavillion ze1210. I was told
that the battery probably caused the problem. The problem
is that the monitor is really dim when I turn it on like a
back light is out or that it is not getting enough power
to run at full capacity. I just wanted to know what the
probable cause was and how much it costs to fix. I have
done some reading and found out that it might be the
invertor, but am not really sure. So if you could give me
an idea of what the problem is and then approximate how
much it costs I would greatly appreciate it. If it is
just an invertor can I fix it myself if I get the part or
does it have to be done at a repair shop? Thanks for your
time.

Have you tried a different monitor?? I wouldnt open up a
monitor, theres usually enough power in the electronics
inside one to kill someone. Hence the warnings on the back
or in the instruction manual.

Is this a laptop ??
If so, then the inverter replacement will run about 50 -
100 $. Had mine replaced last year on my Toshiba
Satellite.
IF you're talking about a desktop monitor, then this
doesn't apply..
