Monitor off/on when switching user

We run Windows XP Home. Switching users via the Welcome Screen, the monitor
turns itself off, then back on again, when we go from one user to another.
Would anyone know it this is a feature you can disable?

Moving from one user to the Welcome Screen and back in again to the same
user does not make the monitor switch off and on again.

This phenomenon may occur if the display settings from one
user to another is so different that the monitor must blank
during the transition instead of shifting smoothly. Look up
the monitor specs, video card specs and check the settings
and that the proper drivers are loaded for each user.
 
Thanks, but the users run the same drivers and the same settings, i.e.
resolution and Hz.
