Monitor doesn't always turn on.

I realize that this problem isn't windows related, but perhaps someone has
encountered it and knows a fix.

Most times when I shutdown and then reboot, the monitor does not turn on
along with the PC (same on restarts). I have to sit there and manually shut
the PC off and on until the monitor responds (I'm sure this is doing wonders
for the integrity of my data).

I've tested the same monitor with other PCs and it works perfectly. I've
tested different monitors with the problem PC and it encounters the same
issue. The PC has two monitor outputs, one from the onboard video card and
one from the AGP video card. The problem occurs regardless of which output I
connect my monitor cable to.

Once I get the monitor on, it responds perfectly until I either have to
shutdown or restart the PC. Then I have to shut the PC on and off repeatedly
until the monitor responds once again.

What is causing this weird behavior? How can I fix it? Any advice or
guidance would be greatly appreciated.

What kind of Monitor is it? And what kind of Video Card are you using?
Usually something as simple as re-seating your video card or checking for
bent pins (on the card, since you say the monitor works fine on other
systems) can be the culprit. Otherwise, it may be a bios conflict with the
onboard video trying to overtake the video card or vice-versa...

I agree! Make sure your video card's integrity is intact. I have this same
problem at work with my monitor. I have to manually shut it off, turn it on,
wait... and keep doing that. IT swears there's nothing wrong and says "it
just takes some time". It's frustrating...
