Monitor dims when unpluged

Working under the assumption that you are talking about a laptop display
dimming while on battery, look in the bios for an option to auto dim the
monitor when on battery and turn it off. It will most likely be under the
power options tab. Keep in mind that the brighter the monitor is set the
shorter the battery life. Good luck.

In followup to this ... on my Toshiba laptop, the program to controll
dimming of the monitor is set by a program available in the Windows
Control Panel called "Toshiba Power Management". Assuming itis a laptop
we are talking, most likly you can find a similiar program (or same if
it's a Toshiba) on the Control Panel or on the Menus. On my Toshiba,
it's also available as a lightbulb icon on the Task Bar.

This power management program defines the brightness settings for
various levels of power conservation. You can keep the monitor bright
when on battery power, but the price is that the battery drains
relatively quickly.

Are you on crack or did you misstate the question. When you unplug your
monitor there is no power and it should go dim, in fact it should go black.
