Having purchased Windows XP HOME with my system, I have
to say I am deeply dissatisfied with the product. I
enjoy Microsoft products by and large, and I am currently
trying to obtain MSCE certification. However I have hit
a "brick wall" with this version of XP because of all the
limitations it has! I cannot even Beta test the majority
of your products because I do not meet the MINIMUM
software requirements... This is most frustrating because
I thirst for more and greater knowledge of your
products. My issue is that I was recntly let go from my
job, and have limited funds,, which go towards study
materials and the likes. I had intended on being able to
get a few years out of the OS and building a foundation
for further advancement. What I have essentially done is
wasted untold amounts of time totally annoyed by XP Home
and it limitations, not to mention what I paid for the
system and what I will have to dish out to finally get
something compatible enough to allow me to pursue my
goals.

Totally frustrated in Vegas!

very vague pertaining to what is you think is wrong with
XP.
perhaps you need to learn to live within your means.

Someone should bring out the violins for you, Monti.

What was it that you expected?

I got to horn on this:

I have XP Pro and with close to 30 patches/updates that
are around 70 meg, it reminds me of an old man with a
walker.

Is it faster? Nope. 98SE is just as fast.
Is it more secure? Nope. It's bleeding to death with
holes.

What are the advantages?

Perhaps easier network setup.
Better use of additional RAM over 512M
Less hard drive restrictions for video/mulitmedia files
over the limitation of FAT 32

Can you get support for XP. Forget it unless to get to a
level 2 or 3 tech---and most will not know any more than
you do. For that you'll wait 30-45 minutes.

Greetings --

Do you have any specific problem(s) that you need help with, or
are you just venting?

It sounds like an issue of incompatible/sub-standard/defective
hardware, or device drivers, or defective/sub-standard wetware.
Clearly a case of PEBCAK.
