Every two weeks or so our system locks up. We get an error notice that says "Module not found." We cant do anything because it wont let us in the system. We basicly have to reinstall Access and loose all the data we did after the last back-up. Any advice would be helpful. Our company wont let us use the pay advice from Microsoft so any help could be helpful.

Stu,

A little more information would be nice.

What version of Access? What version of Windows? Is your database
stand-a-long on a single computer or shared on a network?

Have you installed *all* of the Windows, Office, *and* Jet updates? See
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;303528.

What is the *exact* and *complete* error message?

When do you get the error? When you start Access? When you load a database?
When you do something specific in the database like open a form, report, or
query? Does it happen with all of your databases or just one?

Does reinstalling Access fix the problem?

Where you aware that uninstalling and reinstalling Access does *not* do
anything to your database? If the database is not corrupted, after you
reinstall Access, your data will be OK.

However, if your database is corrupted, uninstalling and reinstalling Access
with not do anything to help. See
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;283849.

If you can provide us more information, we will be able to give you better
guidance.

I've had the exact same error. In my case the database is
done in access 2003 SP3 and I have all the updates from
the Office update site (except a few MS Project ones).
When I open the app, the error comes up. You hit OK, and
it takes you to the VB editor where is says it cannot
find a particular form. The form clearly does exist which
is why this is REALLY odd!

Only way I've got around it is to transfer the table data
to a backed up version where everything worked already.
This database is replicable.

That makes more sense.

My comment about a corruption issue still stands.

There is a link to the 2002 version of article at the top the first link I
mentioned. Make sure you have the latest Jet update mentioned in the
article. It is not automatic from the Office update site.
