I tried to install my old flatbed scanner on my new P.C.
Too late I realised that there is no driver for my
scanner for XP.

Now I have an irritating error message everytime I boot
up. I have since installed some other software so I'd
rather not restore the system to its pre-scanner
installation state.

Isn't there a way to just get rid of the call to the exe
file. Back in my day (5-6) years ago the line woul dhave
been in config.sys or autoexec.bat. Now I suspect that it
is in the registry.

Can I use regedit and just delete the scanner reference?
There must be a way. This is driving me nuts.

Microsoft help was no use at all.

Daya;
Is it a start up "something" missing message? Try this: Start/Run/type: msconfig /OK. Go
to the Startup tab, if you find the offending program, uncheck it. You will have to reboot.
