Hi

Every time I shut a doc, I am asked if I want to accept a modification to
normal.dot.

I know this system and how to activate/desactivate it but the problem is
that it happens every time even when I haven't modified the tool bar.

I can open the same doc, accept the modifications and then close it.

One second later, I've opened the same doc and when I close it a second
after, I get the same request.

The only modification I have noted recently was the adding of 'creative
commons' in a toolbar menu when I added a small XP program for attributing a
copyright to a document.

It seems to have 'blocked' sth.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Thanks

Try searching for all instances of Normal.doc and deleting them.
Normal.doc will be recreated when you start Word

The correct file isn't "Normal.doc"; it's "normal.dot". *.dot files are Word
templates.

The OP should post this question in a newsgroup for Word since the issue is
with the application, not his operating system. The Word experts will be
able to help him.

Hi
Thanks everyone.

I did find an article about this afterwards but whether it is caused my a
macro or a .dll, the end suggestion is always to 'get rid of it'.

But the offending macro or whatever it uses is probably 'Common Creative' so
I'll wait patiently for a patch.

Thanks anyway
