I have a zoltrix 56k usb that is not very old, with wIN98
drivers.

The modem is supposed to get poer from the pc, the pc
does not switch it on so the hardware wizard cant see it
or vice versa.

Cat find Zoltrix.com on the net to get Xp drivers what
now?

I need this modem for my home office, cant do any work
now. No work, no money.

Any suggestion welcome.

Can not replace modem, no money.

Try one of Windows generic drivers. Most modems are Hayes compatible and so
you should find a driver that works. If you can't find one that works your
modem is probably broken. If Windows can't find your modem make sure you
have com ports installed both in the bios and in windows. I just read you
have a usb modem. Make sure your usb ports are set to auto or enabled in the
bios and check in device manager to find out at what point the modem is not
being found\working. Plug the modem directly into the computer's usb port
don't daisy chain it. If you could afford to buy windows why can't you
afford a cheap modem. They are extremely cheap, even new ones. Secondhand
ones are between £5 and £15 (British Pounds Sterling).
