Is RRAS or some variant of available for/under WinXP Pro? I want to
experiment with routing an incoming data call to a modem and route that
call out the Ethernet port.

Thanks.

you may try to enable IP routing. quoted from http://www.ChicagoTech.net
How to enable ip routing/forwarding on Win2k

Depending on your OS, you may have two options. 1) If you have w2k server, Install Routing and Remote Access. 2) If you are running w2k/xp pro, set IPEnableRouter=0x01 in the registry HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\TCPIP\Parameters. Note: the default value is 0.

So, I did this, and created a new Incoming Connections connection in
the Network Connections control panel. Is there any easier way to
manage the connection between the NIC and modem, or just let the OS
magically handle everything? I have yet to actually test the routing,
but that will be done soon.

What are people's experiences with Win2K's RRAS vs XP's? How about
W2K3?
Remember, I'm dealing with a Compaq Armada M700, 256 Meg, 700 Mhz P3
laptop which has been around the block a LOT.

Thanks.
