Modem Diagnostics Help

XP Phone & Modem Options in Control Panel allows you to run a set of
diagnostics on your modem. Where can I find out what all these diagnostic
command mean?

In particular I would like to know what "AT#CLS?" means

When I search the MS knowledge database for XP Modem Diagnostic I get
nothing useful. The only relevant Microsoft document I can find does not list
most of the commands that my software uses, and makes no mention of XP.

There's usually a section in the modem's manual that explains the commands.
Found a website that also lists the commands ant their meanings:

There are initialization strings that are considered recommended for a
particular modem based on brand and model. Again the modem manual (or
online tech support pages) are the best source for this. However there are
many sites on the internet that have catalogs of init strings. For example,
the site mentioned above has a database organized by brand/model:
