Hi.
The scene: The modem, a USRobotic Courier v. Everything, is set to hang up,
WinXP Pro SP1 on a Athlon XP 2800, 512M, Nvidia nForce2 v1.2, Nvidia
GeForce4 MX 440 with AGP 8X, after 5 minutes of inactivity.
With Zone Alarm Pro, Seti@home, and F-Prot running it will not hang up.
I know Zone Alarm is constantly blocking pings from all over the net. And
Seti is busy using up the rest of the CPU cycles of this 2.08Ghz machine.
If Zone Alarm is shut down, the results are much better. No coming home
after work to find the modem connected for 6 or 7 hours.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Does anyone else still use an old fashioned modem to connect to the net?

I have two USRobotic Courier V.Everything's (not the "newer" ones just the
2806) (still waiting for their V.92 firmware upgrade). Can't get anything
but dialup way out in the country and these modems are the best.

Go to the ZoneAlarm forum. I remember reading somewhere that this may be an
issue with it but am not sure where I read it.
