Three years ago I built a system using Intel D845BGL motherboard ( 400
Mhz FSB, 478 pin Proc, DDR 200/266 memory).

Now I want to put together an additional system as cheap as possible,
but using a MB that will let me interchange proc & memory with the old
system.

Does anyone have a suggestion of another MB or should I just bite the
bullet and go with another D845BG?
Is there a site on the WEB that would show me the alternative MBs?

Any help would be appreciated.

Three years ago. Take a look at Gigabyte, MSI, even Biostar boards. Their
cheaper boards are of decent quality to fill that need most likely with the
age of your CPU and memory in addition to giving you more frills and being
reliable for prices under $70. I'd check Newegg first simply because I've
found them extremely dependable for the past 3 years that I've dealt with
them.

Man, I though you were out of luck. If you want to build with socket 478,
then you need 800FSB, whether you are building "cheap" or not. I didn't
think there would be a board made that would support 800FSB as well as
400FSB and ddr200. I was wrong. -Dave
