Cathy

I recently had a computer crashed and was forced to
reinstall Windows Xp. After this reinstallation, I tried
using my USB webcam, but an error comes up saying "There
are no video capture devices installed."

A different forum told me to browse my Windows XP in
order to find and install the Mobo driver. I browsed the
CD but didn't find anything, and right now I feel rather
lost. Can someone tell me exactly what I need to do or if
there is another route I can try?

Thanks very much.

I recently upgraded to Windows XP from Windows 98 on my
desktop computer at work and just got Cruzer Mini USB
storage device (i.e., "pen drive") to transport files back
and forth from home. My laptop at home (also Windows XP)
has no problem with this USB device, but my upgraded
desktop at work can't recognize it. I get an error message
saying to only use devices designed for use with Windows XP
and that carrying the "designed for Windows XP" logo on the
packaging. The pen drive does. Our computer techs at work
have searched for additional drivers, etc., but to no
avail. Any suggestions anyone?

Dave,

Try this way:

Disconnect all USB devices including USB keyboard and mouse. Use PS/2
keyboard and mouse at this time.
Go to device manager, double click universal serial bus controllers, you
should see "xxxPCI to USB Open Host controller", right click on it then click
uninstall, click OK. If you also see "XXXPCI to USB Enhanced Host
Controller", uninstall it as well.
Exit all windows and then reboot.
After reboot, windows should find new hardwares and then install the proper
drivers. Go to device manager again and check to ensure the USB controllers
are there and working properly.
Re-connect the USB devices each at one time to ensure it works properly
before connecting the others.

Hope it helps.

Peter
