MM@ transition error

i am using a 2.4Ghz P4 256 RAM Laptop

And i am experiencing the same problem as daveg. As soon
as i try to add transitions or any special effects in MM2
it just shutsdown.. no error....

i can add a sond clip in the backround but no tansitions..
can someone help??
