mixing number formats with text string

Hi all,
I have a problem that I can't find an answer in the Help
menu or the knowledge database. it is, for example:

A10 (a calculated total with format) $1,000.00
A19 (text string) Total for all items:
A20 (want to show): Total for all items: $1,000.00

I used formula "Total for all items:" & a10
but the format is gone and I have: Total for all items:
1000
Is there a method I can keep the number format in A20?
