I regenerated the entire Outlook '03 (windows xp) without realizing it would
start fresh and I'd lose all my email, contacts, dates etc. Is there any way
to dig up this information? Is it still on my computer or lost?

Thank you!

It is still on your computer - don't worry! All your email, contacts,
etc are stored in a PST file; possibly named OUTLOOK.PST. Search your
system for all *.PST files, then open the appropriate one (probably the
largest) with Outlook.

thanks Pat, I found the file. I cannot open it, there was a link to the
Microsoft outlook page when I tried to open it w/ explorer. Any suggestions?

try: open Outlook, clik on file, open and then Outlook Data File. Then
browse to youre .pst file, and open it.

Ok, I downloaded Outlook Recovery and opened the pst file. However, it is not
functional. How do I open it so that I can actually read the emails, contacts
etc?

Brian,

Thanks for the link. It solved my problem! My system crashed and I had to
resort to restoring the system to the state it was in when delivered. I now
have all of the Ounlook data back as it was before the redo of the system.

Thanks again.

(PS sorry about the blank reply. I hit the wrong link.)

Good news.
