BlankYesterday I noticed I had lost Volume Control (sndvol32) and Sound
Recorder (sndrec32). I recovered both by using the "expand" utility and my
XP CD. Wondering why this occured, I went to "Add\Remove Programs", clicked
on "Windows Components" and now see that there is no "Multimedia" sub menu
item there. In fact, the menu of items under "Windows Components" looks
entirely too short as if there are other items missing as well. Is there any
way to troubleshoot what may be going here? I definitely am missing
"Multimedia" and probably some others. Thanks for replies.

Disregard. I found information related to "Hidden Windows Components" at
Kelly's-Korner and followed insructions there. Problem solved. Thanks Kelly.
