Rebooting my XP home edition goes fine until it gets to the sign up screen
with the usernames and icons which is empty. I cannot go anywhere from that
screen. To reboot I need turn the machine off by hand.

Hello All,

I recentely did a Disk Clean up and Defragmented my desktop, for some reason
everything is real slow like something is always running in the background
just slowing things down, i've tried to disable Norton, I cant even do system
restore anymore... what could be the issue? Any Suggestions. Please Help!

Thank you Oscar

Run in-place restore. Next time you want to defragment, use contig from
sysinternals.com, in conjuction with sdelete. Do not use windows built in
defrag, it is crap.
