I recently went from Windows Mil. to Windows XP. Since I
installed XP, I no longer have Microsoft Works, Adobe
Acrobat Reader, and I don't no what else. I am beginning
to think this was a hugh mistake. What can I do, or what
kind of trouble have I created for myself.
Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Debbie, None of these apps come with Windows XP or any other version of
Windows. If you had Works and other programs before, you should have an
install cd for them. Acrobat Reader is usually included with any app that
has a pdf file or is available for download from Adobe. BTW v6 is the
latest-you may want that anyway.
Hope this helps.

You haven't really created any trouble. It's just that you've
misunderstood where these thing things come from. Neither
Microsoft Works, nor Adobe Acrobat Reader come with Windows XP.
They didn't come with Windows Me either, nor have they ever come
with any version of Windows. In fact, no version of Windows has
ever come with any application software. However your computer
may have come with software that was bundled with it by the
vendor who sold it.

Acrobat Reader is easy. It's free and you can readily download it
from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

MS Works, on the other hand, has to be bought. But if you have
the original installation CD for it, you can just install it
under XP.
