missing "show desktop" icon

My desktop icon on my quick launch bar is not the correct icon. When I tried to find the target, the error message says that the target is missing. The file name is desktop.scf. What do I do?

TIP: Restore the Show Desktop shortcut on Quick Launch Bar

Copy and paste the following lines into a Notepad file.

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

Save the file to your Desktop as Show Desktop.scf. Next left click on the
file you just created and drag it down to the Quick Launch bar and release.

Please give some advice how to get it back. I ahve moved to Spain and can get no assistance here, or from the supplier in the U/K. It has cost me a fortune in phone calls....Yours Greg. PS I have looked at the summary in Help & Support and do not understand it !!!

Restore Desktop Shortcut in Task Bar

If you accidentally delete the Show Desktop shortcut from
the taskbar's Quick Launch toolbar, you can restore it by
going to C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application
Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch.
Create a new text file with the following contents:

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

Save the file as SHOWDESKTOP.SCF. This will restore
the shortcut.
