Missing Security Tab

What could be the cause of my missing the Security Tab on my file system? I
can usually right click on a file or folder, click Properties, and get the
security settings.

I have both Home and Pro at home. The Home version is on an HP laptop, the
Pro version was an upgrade from W2000. Both of which has NTFS.

Hi Ferdie,

Have you recently changed your settings under Folder Options/Use Simple File
Sharing? If so, revert.

Does the Pro also have Simple File Sharing disabled?
For Home you need to be in Safe Mode.

For Windows XP Home:-
You have to start in Safe Mode and log in as an
Administrator in order to access the Security tab.

For Windows XP Professional:-
You have to disable Simple File Sharing.(Folder Options>View
tab....scroll down to "Use simple file sharing")in
order to access the Security tab.
