After not using this particular partition for a long
time, I am now setting it up for the XP SP2 beta. I
noticed that the Recycle Bin icon is not showing on the
desktop. I looked in the DeskTop folder, or the unused
icon folder. I dimly recall that I may have accidently
deleted it in that long time ago. However, when I delete
a file from the file system, I do get the prompt to send
it to the Recycle Bin. How do I get the Recycle Bin Icon
back so that I can empty it?

Right-click on your Desktop and select:
Properties > Desktop > Customize Desktop > Restore Default

Since I didn't have your message before me, I did right-click > rearrange icons and then clicked Show Desktop Icons. Had to do it twice. Then I pulled up the help, found your message--its not easy getting back to the newsgroup this way--and followed your path. It is probably more certain to work, but not as discoverable. Thanks for the instructions. What bothers me is I did my path a couple of times before I asked my question. Perhaps it was the reboot that mattered.
