i have a pentium 4 512MB RAM and we were adding an aditional 512 MB after it
was installed the system went beserk and gave me the missing or corrupt error.
I used chkdsk /r and it repaired the error the question is why the system
did what it did just because we added some memory? we are running Windoes XP
Pro

The memory could be defective and corrupting information that is passing
through on it's way to being saved as files on the hard drive.

IS THAT THE ONLY REASON THAT THIS MAY HAPPEN? SO CHANGING THE MEMORY MAY
SOLVE IT

It's not the only reason, but defective, over-heated, or incompatible
RAM is one of the more common causes of a corrupted registry.

Well, you did say it started after you installed new RAM, didn't you?
