I have a gateway computer running XP home and I was attempting to network my home computers using the networking wizard and it informed me that I might not have the correct network driver installed so I used a gateway driver cd to see if I had the required driver. I was able to locate the correct driver and installed it. I reboted the computer and noticed that the sound, usb, and video were not functioning properly. I assumed it just as a glitch with windows reboot so I just exited windows and attempted to restart. Now the computer will get just past the bios screen and tell me that the “winnnt\system32\config\system†file is “missing or corrupt†and “windows is unable to load†I have taken the hard drive and installed it in another computer as a slave and all the data is present. I just need to be able to restore my computer to its previous state. I am going to be going out of town tomorrow morning and need to have it fixed by then. Thankyou in advance.
