missing or corrupt file

sometimes when i restart my comp i get a message saying "windows cannot start because a file is missing or corrupt" then it shows <windows root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe. ill then press the power button and the comp. will restart and load windows fine. i have even loaded that file from a floppy disk but it didnt help. i only get this message when restart windows xp when i do updates to xp or when making changes to configurations like the startup or games. any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks

You would most likely need a third party application if they have been removed
from the recycle bin. try a google search, I don't have any links for third
party undelete programs.
