missing inbox/folders

Hi.
I am using Win XP home, Outlook 2002
I have recently exported my personal folder to a .PST file bacause i
formatted my PC

When I import it back in, it shows the 'sent items' but nothing else.

I have tried the repair tool, it tells me that I have 11000 emails in
17 folders.... but where are they and how do i get them back?

First, never export to or import from a PST. It's never necessary and can
lead to lost data. This advice has been stated time and time again in this
newsgroup and others. You should have reviewed this group before
formatting. Now it may be too late.

If the Inbox Repair Tool said it was successful in repairing the file
(something you shouldn't have needed in the first place had you performed
the saving of your data correctly), then try opening it in Outlook with
File>Open>Outlook Data File. If that doesn't show the data, then it would
appear that you ruined it with whatever method you used when you tried to
save it.
 
I have kept a back up that hasn't been imported into anything or had
the repair tool run on it.

I have tried on another PC with the following:
CPANEL/MAIL
add new data file (select .pst)

this again loads the personal folder, but now, no inbox and still no
emails!

So, it is quite apparent that the method you used to make the backup damaged
the file and you are, indeed, out of luck.
