Missing Icons On Desktop

My IE icon on desktop is missing
Even I tried the method as shown

How do I get it back?

Try this.

Right click Desktop | Properties | Desktop tab |
Customize Desktop button | General tab |
Desktop icons | Select Internet Explorer |
OK your way out

Actually, That checkbox is selected
But, Nothing happen
As I mentioned before, I did the resolution as MS suggests in
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/330170/en-us
And I still see no IE icon on my desktop

Does that mean that you have *NO* icons on your Desktop?

Max,

See this, there is a registry entry and a Group Policy that can hide
Internet Explorer icon from the desktop.
