To access Windows update go via:
start, help and support, windows update.
To restore update to start menu
Right click on start tab bottom lh corner,
Select properties,
You should have the Taskbar and Start Menu Propeties window
Select Customize
You should now have the Customize window
Select Advanced
On the start menu items menu make sure that help and support is checked
Click ok on customize menu
Click apply on the Taskbar and start menu properties window

Thanks for the input but, I had already explored that area. Help and Support
is already listed in the Start Menu. I'm trying to restore the Windows
Update icon/shortcut to the very top of the menu where it use to reside,
right above programs. I ran a system search, but no luck. It's not a
critical situation, just a little inconvience in not having 'one' click take
me where I want to go.
