I seem to have lost my "unzipped" folder......does anyone have any idea where I might go to look for it???
This XP is wonderful when you know what you're doing, but it sure is tough to figure out! Personally, I liked the Win 98 layout much better and wish I could set up XP that way!
Thanks for any help I can get....

Ronnie, I tried the start/search feature....to no avail....I'm really at a loss here. Either I've hidden the folder really well, or I have some gremlins in my system!!

If you aren't used to the XP format, you can switch to Classic view.
However, XP does grow on you and I use the XP view for all but the control
panel where I like the classic view better.

Maybe if you give us some details about the folder in question. Is this a
folder you created? What files were kept in this folder? Was it associated
with a certain program? What were you doing just prior to the folder
disappearing? Where exactly was it located on the drive?

The unzipped folder is like the one that comes with Win 98. It was
located on the C: drive and was just plain called "unzipped". It's
where all the files that you unzip go. It's not one I created but
one that was just there. However I did use Winzip to unzip them.
Perhaps I've mistaken in thinking that it's a Microsoft folder when
in actual fact it could be a folder that comes with Winzip???? I
notice XP uses a feature called "extract" but is it the same? And if
so, where did all the files I had go?? I had the folder a week ago
and now it's not there. And I've had XP for at least 2 months now.

I'm sorry if I'm not being clear about the situation but it's very
frustrating to say the least, when there are files in there that I
need. Guess this is another hard lesson learned.....back up, back
up, back up......

That folder was most likely created by the Winzip program. Hard to tell what
may have happened to it. Make sure you have checked the Recycle Bin.

XP does have a built-in compression (zip) utility, however, it disappears
when you install a third party zip program.
