I am running XP Pro on a Dell Dimension and have been trying to install a new
piece of software. I get an error message telling me "Cant find xyz.sdk file
in XP." I believe that a couple files may have been deleted or have become
corrupt. I know that I can run repair with the xp cd to re install missing
files without losing anything else. I was just wanted to know the best route
for trying to re install missing or corrupt files using the xp cd. Thanks.

BTW: I do not think "xyz.sdk" is a valid file in XP. If this is a file
that is missing, it may be part of some spyware program.

SDK suggests Software Developer Kit. Which suggests that the author of
the package you are trying to install has left something out; and rather
as if he has sent a 'debugging' rather than final version. Not part of
standard Windows anyway.
