Hi and thanks for your time;
This is a really odd one I have to say,and I sure would
appreiciate if someone could help me get a handle on what
to do if anything.
I have simply lost all of my pictures, about a thousand
at least, the my pictures folder is still there but is
empty, I have also lost all the contents that held copys
of deleted registry files, and a folder that held some
case law has compleatly vanished as well.

I did back up the most of it except for some of the more
recent pictures.

anyway I would sure like to understand how this can
simply happen by itself, and if there is any way that I
can find what I have lost.

It might be usefull to say that I was tinkering around
with trying to install outlook express so that I would be
able to use both outlook and outlook express at the same
time,
each time I tried to open outlook express it crashed,

each time it warned me if I chose to end the task now I
may loose what I have open, I chose to end task as I
didnt have anything open,
I tried this installing over and over about three times
and always the same thing.

just after is when I noticed that all my files were
missing.

really odd to me is all I can say.
Thanks again for any advise Dick

If there are invalid indexes, at bootup the computer will
run through and remove them and also remove the file
pertaining to them. Usually happens when something goes
corrupt [a little exclamation sign appears]. The best way
is to use a program like search and recover from iolo.
http://www.iolo.com you can try the whole System Mechanic
Professional 4 for 30 days which includes Search and
Recover. You should get the program, it does wonders for
those 'deleted' items.
